I have been working with Mozilla for some time, but ultimately, they have disallowed web developers (like myself) to allow users to open up a certain website when opening a new tab page.
However, the good news is an add-on exists that allows you to choose the URL.
If you are a Firefox user, and would prefer to have your homepage open when you open a new tab, visit the browser extensions page to get this setup in 30 seconds.

I did a bit of experimenting on the US version of the site, and have found that the large format buttons allow for even quicker access to your favorite websites.

For the last couple of months, I've been working with my freelancer to completely redo the site: Redesign, recode, starting over on an entirely new server. Hopefully you like the results.

Firefox users: Recent changes disallow cookies by default. If you cannot stay logged in to the homepage, here is the fix.
These new tab browser extensions allow you to open your homepage in a new tab. They are free to download.
